The MasterPROJECT is a one-to-one mentoring program that will coach, guide, and accompany you from A to Z through the creation of a new, coherent and cohesive photographic project of publishable standard.
The MasterPROJECT is the practical application of everything you learned through our MasterCOURSE, and your ultimate confirmation as an expressive photographer.
Working on a full photographic project is more demanding than creating an isolated image out of a lucky strike. Not only does it demand more work, time and energy. It also demands a clear intent and idea from the photographer, and then enough technical, compositional and logistical skills in order to make it happen. The results, however, hugely reward the effort!
The beauty of the photographic project, as opposed to the single image approach, is that we can create expressive resonances between different images, increasing their expressive force. Therefore, through a full body of work, we can convey more complex messages in a clearer way. Rather than saying it all through one single image, we can tell a whole story by splitting it into a number of visual sentences. Therefore, by working on a project for a certain amount of time, we will develop a better understanding of our subject and a stronger connection with it. The result will be deep and expressive images that show a personal and unique way of seeing the world.

Through the MasterPROJECT, we will help you define your personal vision, identify your centers of interests, and create bodies of work that display a conceptual, aesthetical, intellectual, and emotional load consistent with who you are.

Your tutor will be Rafael Rojas, Master Hasselblad 2014 artist photographer with pedagogical skills as a former university lecturer at the EFPL University (Switzerland). Rafael has also an MA in Photography from Falmouth University (UK), adding an essential academic background to the teaching program.

This MasterPROJECT has been planned and designed as in-depth, thorough, and logical learning experience, covering the entire photographic process of the creation of a coherent, consistent, and solid photographic body of work, from A to Z.
✔ ONE-TO-ONE COACHING
During the whole learning program, you will be personally coached by Rafael Rojas, through regular one-to-one online video meetings and feedback of your ongoing project. Reading material, videos, exercises and case studies will be provided to help you with the advancement of your project.
✔ HONE YOUR CRITICAL SKILLS
The goal of the MasterPROJECT is not only to help you materialize a consistent body of work, but also to teach you how to hone your critical skills when it comes to analyzing your own work and the work of other photographers.
✔ ARTIST BOOK & CERTIFICATE
On completion of the MasterPROJECT, all students will receive a printed portfolio, bound by hand into a beautiful artist book that will showcase the final project. The students will also receive a Certificate of Achievement that will certify they have successfully completed the learning program.

The MasterPROJECT is truly a mentoring program, with personalized guidance, feedback, and support.
You will carry out your Project with the personalized guidance of Rafael Rojas. Regularly, you will meet him online to discuss the progress of your project and receive feedback.
The MasterPROJECT will culminate with the creation of an expressive handmade Artist Book of publishable standard. This will become the materialization of your personal vision!

FINAL HANDMADE ARTIST BOOK
ONE YEAR PROGRAMME
Upon enrolling, you will meet your tutor Rafael Rojas to talk about your photography, your motivations, and discuss potential project ideas.
You will receive some preliminary learning material to read and digest in order to embark on the MasterProject.
You will be exposed to several case studies of different kinds of photographic projects, different visual and narrative styles, outcomes, etc
During the next 10 months, you will meet your tutor once every month, so that you can receive guidance and feedback as you progress
At the end, your tutor will help you make a final ordered selection of the images and prepare them for printing
A handmade portfolio will be made by Rafael Rojas and Anca Minican and sent to you along with a Diploma
MEET YOUR MENTOR
Rafael Rojas (Master Hasselblad 2014, MA Photography) is a Swiss and Spanish full-time artist photographer, lecturer, author, and creativity mentor.
He has been involved in teaching most of his life, with many years under his belt as a post-graduate university lecturer.
Rafael Rojas’ academic depth is informed by an MA in Photography by Falmouth University, UK (Distinction).
This learning program also draws on his hundreds of hours of experience teaching expressive photography through workshops, photo-immersion trips and lectures all over the world.
Rafael is also the founder and editor of “Platinum Press Editions”, a publishing house specialising in the creation of art photography books of the highest quality.
